HOLDTIGHT & collaborating artist, Maki Teshima, are hosting a Community Natural Dye Party to help HT prepare for our upcoming performance season! Join us on Saturday, March 2nd from 11-4pm at the Champa Studio at The Arts Complex in downtown Denver, for a food-waste & flower scrap Dye Party (plus rope weaving). Come for an hour or stay all day, and let’s dye together! All participants will go home with a unique hand-dyed piece, plus we will provide light snacks and drinks donated by Spinelli’s Market.
Over the course of the day we will show you how to dye materials, working with our hands in preparation for HT’s upcoming performance premiere of together : un/tethered. This new piece will premiere April 4-6th at The Studio Loft at Ellie Caulkins Opera House at the Arts Complex with support by Denver Arts & Venues. Maki is a core creative collaborator on un/tethered and the performance incorporates Maki’s natural dye scenography.
Experience a taste of natural dyeing, rope weaving, and a fun afternoon with the HOLDTIGHT community!
All proceeds go directly towards supporting the premiere of together : un/tethered.
